Boost Immunization Rates for Immunocompromised Patients

We're getting questions about how to vaccinate adults taking immunosuppressive meds...since patients are lining up for flu vaccines.

Stay alert for patients newly diagnosed with autoimmune diseases, cancer, etc...so you can vaccinate BEFORE they start immunosuppressants.

Live vaccines, such as MMR or varicella, are best given at least 4 weeks before starting an immunosuppressive med...to minimize any risk of getting an infection from the vaccine.
